This bone broth pumpkin spice latte is a PSL twist with everything you crave about the original, PLUS all the wonderful bone broth benefits for your gut, skin, and joints – with or without coffee! Enjoy this nourishing fall time favorite hot or iced!

Earlier this year I did the unthinkable when I got curious enough to add bone broth to my morning cup of coffee (gasp!).
Before you go spitting out your coffee in disbelief, hear me out.
My initial intention was to sneak bone broth into my diet more often to help heal my gut.
By the way, if you aren’t already aware of the major health benefits of bone broth, you can read all about it and how to easily make it at home by checking out my post on how to make bone broth.
Thanks to all the beneficial protein, collagen, and healthy fats in bone broth, I also assumed adding it to my coffee would help to “bulletproof” it a bit to avoid the unwanted caffeine crash I typically experience.
And to my surprise (and everyone else’s), it’s actually really tasty! It’s everything you want in a latte – thick, creamy, rich, and flavorful.
Oh, and it did curb my caffeine crashes AND help heal my gut (according to how I feel).

It’s so good that I created my every day bone broth latte recipe that can be made with or without coffee.
Cue the changing of the leaves and I knew I had to recreate this infamous latte in pumpkin spice fashion.
Once again, it’s everything your heart craves in a PSL – warm, velvety, slightly sweet, and perfectly spiced with fall flavors.
Plus, it’s made with simple ingredients that will deliver amazing health benefits for your gut, skin, and joints.
A latte that heals both the belly and the soul! Ah!

Why You’ll Love This Bone Broth Pumpkin Spice Latte
- It’s a PSL twist made for coffee enthusiasts and caffeine-free drinkers alike. This recipe works great with both coffee or espresso, or sans caffeine entirely – you get to have your cozy PSL moment either way.
- You can feel good about drinking this PSL by adding bone broth, which is full of nutrients that support your gut, joints, and skin. The collagen and healthy fats in the bone broth also make this latte extra creamy and velvety smooth.
- This latte is super easy to make iced for those warm fall days you still want to be festive.

Pro Tip: I like to freeze my homemade bone broth in these large ice cube trays. They keep perfect portions of broth ready to go for small and quick recipes like this one.
Ingredients and Notes
- coffee (optional) – Use fresh coffee or espresso (or decaf) brewed using your preferred method. If making this coffee-free, you can omit the coffee entirely or swap it for equal parts bone broth and milk.
- bone broth – You can buy it in stores, but I can’t recommend it enough to make it yourself at home. Chicken or beef bone broth are the most common options. Chicken bone broth has a milder, lighter flavor, while beef broth has a stronger, richer flavor.
- milk – Look for a milk or dairy-free alternative that is thick and rich to give you the creamiest latte texture. My go-tos for making a latte is whole milk, half & half, or coconut milk.
- pumpkin puree – You can roast and puree your own pumpkins, or if you’re using canned pumpkin, be sure it’s 100% pure pumpkin puree and not pumpkin pie filling.
- maple syrup (or sweetener of choice) – Naturally high in essential minerals like calcium, zinc, and manganese, maple syrup is made for fall drinks and gives this latte a sweet, caramelized flavor.
- pumpkin spice – In my opinion, it’s the secret ingredient to making this latte taste like an official PSL. You can use a premade spice blend, or check out the recipe card for how to make your own pumpkin spice blend.
- vanilla extract – A must in my book for complimenting the sweetness of the maple syrup and pumpkin. If I ever forget to add it, I can taste that something is obviously missing.
- ground turmeric – Totally optional, but it packs in some impressive anti-inflammatory benefits and will enhance the orange color of your latte.
- sea salt – Rich in trace minerals and key electrolytes, sea salt helps to balance out the sweetness and enhance the spices.

Instructions for Making Bone Broth Pumpkin Spice Latte
1. Brew your fresh coffee or espresso (or skip if you’re not using coffee).
2. While the coffee is brewing, add all the other ingredients into a small saucepan.
3. Add your freshly brewed coffee to the saucepan and heat the contents over medium heat, whisking occasionally.

4. Once the latte begins to steam (and before it boils), remove it from the heat and transfer into a blender (or use a milk frother if you have one).
5. Blitz for 10-15 seconds until frothy.
6. Pour the latte into your favorite fall mug and top with a dusting of ground cinnamon. Enjoy!

For an iced latte, add all your ingredients into a blender and blitz for 10-15 seconds or until well combined. Pour directly over ice and enjoy.
